SYLHET :: 24 male pilgrims and 9 female pilgrims of Bangladesh died before performing hajj because of different reasons including old age complications in Saudi Arabia betwwen August 7 to September 8.
Ministry of Religious Affairs’ hajj management department today announced , a total of 33 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims died this year.
According to the announcement,24 hajjis died in Makkah, eight in Madinah and one in Jeddah while 17 other pilgrims are currently hospitalised in Saudi Arabia.
A total of 1,01,797 pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh to perform the holy ritual which is scheduled to be held on September 11.
Of them, 95,614 have reached under 483 private hajj management and 5,183 under government management.
